$17,500,000 Paradise Valley Estate Featured in The Wall Street Journal

PARADISE VALLEY, ARIZ., 4/7/2020—While many economic sectors are struggling with the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, the super luxury real estate market presses on. On April 6, 5870 N. Saguaro Road, an impressive 15,875-square-foot home on nearly 5-acres in Paradise Valley, has just closed for $17,500,000- tying for the second most expensive home ever sold in Arizona.

The near-record sale was featured in The Wall Street Journal.  According to listing agent Joan Levinson, the striking home attracted a lot of attention.  “I was honored to be a part of the transaction,” says Ms. Levinson.  “It’s such a lovely and impressive home, I’ll miss being able to show it!”

The exquisite gated estate is located within the confines of Arizona’s most expensive town, Paradise Valley, where 4 of the state’s 5 most expensive homes have sold.  The nearly 5-acre grounds feature a 75-ft lap pool, sunken tennis court, basketball court, and soccer field.  The home is highlighted by stunning full Camelback Mountain views. The attention to detail within the home includes white-paneled walls, walnut flooring, and high wood ceilings. The kitchen features a two-story ceiling and two center islands. An impressive game room, wine room and of course a spacious guest house are included.

According to public records, the owner of 5870 N. Saguaro Road was Larry Clemmensen, who is the former President and CEO of the Capital Group Cos., one of the largest investment management firms in the world.   Mr. Clemmensen purchased the lot in 2007. The home was built in 2010 and designed by Award-Winning Architect Mark Candelaria of Candelaria Design. Mr. Candelaria stated that the home was “a classic”, and “truly one of the best designed and built homes of (his) nearly 40-year career.”  The buyers of record are an anonymous LLC.

Ms. Levinson represented the seller, and this sale represents another in a string of records for the Paradise Valley based Realtor.  In 2017 Levinson previously sold the then most expensive home in Arizona for $15.65 million. She has now sold 2 of the top 5 most expensive homes in Arizona history, and has 3 of the top 5 sales within the last 12 months.
