Joan has lived in Paradise Valley for over 25 years, is married and has 2 children, each of whom graduated from the excellent public schools in the area. One is now an entertainment executive and attorney at a major Hollywood film studio and the other is a minimally invasive and robotic surgeon at a major New York academic institution. Her husband is an intensive care and pulmonary physician in Scottsdale, who is also very involved in Contemporary Art. He has served on the Board of the Arizona State University Art Museum and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as having shows for his own work in New York City, Dusseldorf, Paris and Mexico City.
